Acorn Team (ages 0 -20 months)

Brittany just began her journey at OPFS this summer and is looking forward to working with staff members to create a fun, safe, and creative environment for each of the children. Brittany has been in the childcare field since 2018, working many jobs ranging from early childhood teacher to behavioral technician. She has experience working with children of different ages and backgrounds, and enjoys working with children with exceptionalities. Brittany just completed her Bachelor’s degree in general studies with her concentration being in human services. She is looking to continue her educational career in Speech-Language Pathology to continue helping as many people as she can. Her personal philosophy is that working in the childcare field is a learning experience but also very rewarding. Two fun facts about Brittany is that she use to speak Japanese and Korean and plans to reteach herself. She is also illustrated children’s books. Brittany is also the parent of a middle school student in Oak Park. 

My name is Miriam, and I’m so excited to be joining the team! I’ve been working with children for over 10 years and have always had a passion for creating a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. I’m patient, dependable, and love getting to know each child’s unique personality and interests. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and my two cats. I’m looking forward to getting to know your families and being part of your child’s early learning journey!

Aaliyah has been with the OPFS team since late 2020 and she has dipped her toes in the majority of age groups. Spending the most time with the lower school toddlers in Seedlings, she also loves having opportunities to move around the school. Ms Aaliyah moved to Oak Park in 2020 and found she really enjoys going outdoors and spending time with her husband and son. She also enjoys resting, watching her favorite TV shows, and faithfully participating in and attending church. She has been working in childcare for several years and she loves watching the children grow and develop. She studied classical fine art at Columbia College and hopes to be able to utilize her artistic abilities to further engage her students in interactive and immersive activities, meant to help with exploring colors, shapes, textures, etc., while also maintaining a healthy play-based education.

My name is Maddie, and I am happily joining you all to continue my journey in early childhood development, and further my skills in childcare. I studied psychology at Purdue University NW, and intend to go back eventually to continue my education. I feel it is important to be a good role model and support system for young, developing children, and pride myself on being just that. I love to get to know and understand others, and look forward to meeting all of you!

Kiana is excited to join the OPFS community! From Tahlequah, Oklahoma, she earned her CNA and phlebotomist certifications while in high school. She believes in facilitating hands-on immersive experiences for the kids– Having gone to a Cherokee Immersion School, she believes building community is the pillar in development. Growing up, she helped take care of the community's children, eventually going into babysitting for her younger siblings and others. She has 10 siblings and likes to play the clarinet and saxophone in her free time, as well as go on hikes!
